Megan is originally from upstate New York and graduated from the University of Scranton in 1997 with her Master’s in Physical Therapy. Early in her career she worked and was trained in pelvic floor physical therapy at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She later was employed at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center where she developed a pelvic health PT program within their gynecology department. She met her husband and moved to Pennsylvania in 2004; since that time she has had the opportunity of working in various settings implementing and being a part of women’s health and pelvic floor physical therapy programs. She has worked at Core Plus Physical Therapy in Mechanicsburg, PA since 2013, where she is happy to part of an experienced and skilled team of core and pelvic floor physical and occupational therapists. She loves working with postpartum women of any stage who are looking to optimize their health and strength for every day life as well as fitness; she also enjoys working with pediatric clients and their families who are dealing with issues such as constipation, bedwetting and daytime leakage. Megan has found the Tummy Team training and approach to be an invaluable tool, and it has provided for her a fresh framework that allows her to guide clients to make lifestyle and exercise changes that help them reconnect to their core strength in meaningful ways. She believes this functional core rehab approach blended with her strong base of knowledge in pelvic health has enabled her to better serve her clients in helping them to heal, thrive and live to their fullest potential. She loves taking core and pelvic floor knowledge and information into the community through presentations and talks, and also implements Tummy Team core exercises and postural concepts even with her three teen and pre-teen kids at home. In her free time she loves being outdoors, reading, walking her dogs and paddle boarding.

Caroline studied exercise science and psychology at UMass-Amherst. After graduation, Caroline, who is a life-long equestrian, had an opportunity to ride professionally. She soon realized that many of her clients were lacking in core strength and so became a certified Power Pilates instructor in order to provide a more well-rounded program for her students. After the birth of her first daughter, Caroline stepped back from the professional horse world and focused more on Pilates and pre-and post-natal fitness. She developed an umbilical hernia and a large 8-finger diastasis after her 3rd pregnancy, which went undiagnosed by medical staff. Having knowledge of diastasis recti from her Pilates training, she realized that she had the condition but was unwilling to have surgery to correct it. Instead, Caroline looked into programs to rehabilitate diastasis recti. After closing her diastasis and seeing first-hand the dramatic results that can be achieved from following an at-home rehab program, Caroline was inspired to become a Tummy Team endorsed practitioner in order to provide other women with the help and resources to close their diastases and rebuild their cores. Since then, Caroline has earned numerous other certifications in order to provide her clients with the most well-rounded and comprehensive programs possible. In addition to diastasis recti rehab, she also holds certifications in functional pelvic floor therapy and scar release therapy. When she is not in the office, she enjoys training for marathons and keeping up with her 3 active daughters, husband, and Boston Terrier, Mookie. Depending on the season, you can find them hiking, skiing, camping, or catching waves on local beaches.

Chiara graduated with honors in Physical Education in Rome in 1995. She has been a physical education teacher and a certified personal trainer for over 20 years. After her second pregnancy, she noticed that her belly was not getting back to its original condition, but at that time she had never heard anything about diastasis recti. As soon as she started looking for some information about the strange shape of her belly, she realized that finding valuable indications was quite impossible. In addition to the lack of information, Chiara soon realized that Italy was a country where the solution for diastasis recti is considered to be primarily surgical. At the same time she noticed that diastasis recti affects many more people that she had thought and that most of the exercises usually recommended for fixing this condition can even make it worse. Since then, all of her efforts, her studies and her research have been focused on reversing the trend and helping people to stay fit and get better. She became a Tummy Team Trained Practitioner in 2020, which adds more value to her commitment in teaching good fitness classes to people who have a diastasis recti. Chiara is very glad to be part of a team of professionals and she really appreciates the many chances of discussion and interaction.

Kirsten has been a midwife since 2001, working on a delivery ward and in maternity at Klinik Im Park hospital in Zürich. She has been teaching pre and postnatal classes for over 17 years, with her goal being to help the mother regain core and pelvic floor strength. She noticed the lack of information and knowledge of medical professionals and physiotherapists in this area when she realized she had no idea where to send the clients to heal. In Switzerland, the condition is often ignored, and therefore, information about the condition of core weakness and diastasis recti is rare. Even more rare are therapists that know how to treat it. She decided to learn as much as she could, collecting all the information she could get and began to work with clients that had diastasis. In 2015, Kirsten and a colleague founded the one and only individual diastasis consultation in Switzerland, at Hirslanden Klinik Im Park in Zürich, treating successfully women with core weakness and diastasis recti in individualized consultations. Her pre and postnatal classes are based on this knowledge. In 2020 Kirsten became a tummy team trained practitioner which is a big upgrade to her previous work. New perspectives and sharing information, experience and results with this specialized team is a huge source of knowledge which makes all the difference. Kirsten is happy to be a part of this group of professionals and as a result is being able to provide the best outcome for her clients.

Monet has been a Registered Nurse for almost 20 years with a background in Emergency Nursing, Psychiatry and Nursing Education. Her passion for Core Rehabilitation comes from her own experience. After discovering she had a Diastasis of greater than 10 fingers she pursued education that led to her recovery and ultimately supporting others on their healing journey. Monet is fervent about creating a safe, supportive , personalized plan for each of her clients. She is dedicated to identifying individual needs and enjoys the creative process of tailoring core rehabilitation to life circumstances and ability. Monet lives on Long Island with her two children.

Gillian received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Andrews University in 1998 and gained a vast and diverse history of experience in outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation. Following a back injury, four car accidents and birth trauma, Gillian experienced years of pain and feeling disconnected from her body. She came to The Tummy Team for her own recovery in 2012. With the help of Kelly Dean, she not only found relief, but also developed a special interest in treating core and pelvic floor conditions. Gillian then completed rigorous one-on-one training with Kelly to become a Tummy Team core rehabilitation specialist. She worked alongside Kelly for 7 years at The Tummy Team clinic where she gained greater understanding of the impact that functional core weakness and pelvic floor dysfunction can have on pregnancy, postpartum recovery, menopause and other natural life transitions. She is also the co-creator of Floor Of Your Core. She continues to pursues greater understanding of pelvic health and manual therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). Her advanced training includes Holistic Pelvic Health with Tami Kent, MSPT, and visceral manipulation through The Barral Institute. When she is not working with clients or studying, Gillian absolutely delights in exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband and two children, loves a good cup of tea, practices tai chi and enjoys playing the piano.

Sheila has a nutritional background as a chef from 2011, and holds a passion in healthy and nutritious diets. In 2019, she started working as a personal trainer in MavenogMig, where she became an endorsed tummyteam trainer as well as a personal trainer in Pilates reformer machines, which is our tummysafe reformer training. Sheila took an interested in the world of diastasis recti after helping her friend Helle healing her DR in the summer 2019. She was in awe with what it could do and seeing the a big difference correct rehab has done for both men and women in Denmark. “I feel empowered in seeing men and women change before my eyes, and help them reach their full potential. Many clients becomes quite emotional, when they finally find out, that their problems with their body isn’t in their head, but in fact due to diastasis recti. And even better – that I can help them. Sheila herself have 2 children, Bastian from 2015 and Elina from 2017 and have herself undergo the program as she herself had some core issues, which successfully have been rehabilitated and are now strong. In August 2020, Helle and Sheila Hansen will start offering online consultations, as a result of Covid-19 restrictions in Denmark in Mavenogmig ApS. In early September 2020 MavenogMig ApS will initiate a research study in diastis recti, the causes and effects on our program, which a lot of people in the medical community is lacking, as there currently are very little research done in the world. Our hope is that our data collected, can be used for in helping the medical community understand what a huge impact programs treating rectus diastasis may have in women and men around the world.

Helle holds a bachelor in Psychology in Marketing/Management from Monash University in Australia, 2004. After years working in the corporate world in Australia and Denmark, she transitioned to opening a Pilates Reformer studio in Solrød, south of Copenhagen, Denmark in 2016, working as a personal trainer. As the mother of two children, Helle herself sought help for her DR, after her GP had dismissed the problem 18moths earlier, after Helle gave birth to baby Zoe. “As a fitness instructor, I was keen to learn more about the ailment that so many women suffers from, the backpain, incontinence, bloating especially those attending my mums&bubs classes – such as myself who 2 years after giving birth still look as if I was 6 months pregnant. I underwent a Danish program with an amazingly results within the first 3 weeks – and to which I decided to make an offer to buy the company MavenogMig, as I could see the synergies between a fitness studio with mums&bubs classes , and a company that treat womens diastasis recti from a holistically view, and not just symptom based at an individually level.” As a mother of two, Zoe from 2017 and Oskar from 2011, life is full on and we always thrive to find the balance between what we want to do and what we actually can do. Christina received her bachelor’s degree in Life Science from the University of Portland and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Pacific University. Through her personal experience with pelvic floor dysfunction and her extensive training, she found a passion for Women’s Health therapy and went on to receive her Women’s Health certification through Herman and Wallace Institute Level 1 and Level 2. Christina also worked at The Tummy Team Clinic along side Kelly Dean MPT focusing on functional core, pelvic floor and prenatal core training and postpartum rehab. Christina has been treating and aiding women with pelvic floor dysfunction for over 10 years. She has also received her Pre- and Post-Natal Corrective Exercise Specialist certificate, STOTT Rehab Pilates Mat and Reformer, and is pursuing more classes in pregnancy and postpartum care. She also treats orthopedic conditions and has a background in NAIOMT, ASTYM, and other manual therapy and exercise certifications. Christina specializes in treating pregnancy and postpartum care, pain syndromes, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, and how to restore balance in the pelvic floor. She focuses on holistic care with a gentle approach to treating the pelvis and structures within the body that alter the mechanics of the pelvic floor. She also offers pregnancy and postpartum training programs. Christina is the creator of The Pelvic Floor Place and her desire is to treat women dealing with pelvic floor issues as well as helping pregnant and postpartum moms rehabilitate after having babies. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, getting outside, and enjoys working out with pilates, yoga, barre 3, and CrossFit.

Katrin has been a Physical Therapist since 2001 specializing and working in Orthopedic Rehab, including certification and experience in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) and Manual Therapy. After living in the USA with her family for 5 years, she moved back to Germany in 2016. Upon returning she noticed a huge demand and information gap on pre- and post-natal care for mothers - and women in general - and grew more interested in specializing in women’s health. Katrin is a mom of two girls and lives in Frankfurt/Germany where she helps women of all age regaining functional core and pelvic floor strength as well as an improved mind - body - awareness. As a certified breastfeeding and lactation consultant she is also supporting young mothers and their babies on their journey.

Following a back injury as a dancer at 14 years of age, Amanda was interested in back injury rehabilitation and prevention. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and Psychology from the University of Washington in 2000, wanting to deepen her understanding of the body and injury recovery, Amanda returned to the University of Washington and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2008. Amanda has worked with children and adults with neurological and orthopedic conditions in a variety of settings.

Amanda found The Tummy Team first as a patient and then began studying with The Tummy Team. Coursework and observation of the Tummy Team and Kelly Dean’s work has ignited Amanda’s passion for functional core rehabilitation, tummy safe fitness, and improving the standard of healthcare for prenatal and postnatal women.

Amanda is also a Certified STOTT Pilates Instructor since 2004, she completed the specialty track in Prenatal and Postnatal clients, is a ZEN-GA Qualified Instructor, Total Barre Instructor and has her CORE Athletic Conditioning and Performance Training Certifications. Amanda lives in Woodinville, WA with her husband, 8-year-old daughter, and 6-year-old twin boys….who make her laugh every day!

Cheryl is a STOTT Pilates instructor who specialized in core rehabilitation for chronic back pain. As she saw more clients with diastasis and dysfunctional cores she realized many Pilates moves hurt the healing process rather than help it, so she studied the true anatomy of our core and learned how to strengthen and integrate it properly into alignment and life.

She also began to see the correlation between abdominal and pelvic floor weakness and found that though incontinence is common it is not normal. She then trained to teach Total Control© with the Women’s Health Foundation in Chicago, specializing in pelvic health, which also led her to focus on prenatal and postpartum women.

Once The Tummy Team began offering professional education Cheryl knew its methods and approach were in line with her philosophy and passions.
